Recap and other Random Thoughts

So, once again, I'm not the best at blogging these days.

Since this is such a great way to preserve memories (and I do love the look back on old blog posts I wrote), I am determined to keep it up...even if it means only posting once every couple weeks(!).

After we had our fun weekend away with family, we were able to get back into the swing of things a little bit. I went to a Mary Kay party a friend was hosting, went out dancing again with some of my friends, spent some time with some amazing people, celebrated a friend's birthday, hosted a BUNCO night at my house (we are starting up a monthly group again!), had an early Easter celebration with Josh's family, helped my bosses and their girls move (I work out of their home, so moving meant the office moved, too), attended the Good Friday service at church, celebrated Easter with my sister-in-law's family, and celebrated Easter with my family! It was a busy month, but it felt good to be normal busy again.

(Early Easter celebration with Josh's parents. They were traveling for work on Easter, so we celebrated a couple of weeks ahead of time. My niece had a lot of fun finding the eggs...but more fun shaking them since there were jelly beans inside)

(Remember this little man? I got to be in the room when he was born. I love snuggling him whenever I get a chance to)

(Celebrating my sweet friend's birthday! We surprised her...she had no idea we were going out with a bunch of our friends! She and I have been friends for 10 years now!)

(The hubby and our niece before we left to go to the Good Friday service. They are BFFs. Forever and always)

(We decorated eggs with my sister-in-law's family the Saturday before Easter. I can't even tell you the last time I did that. It was a lot of fun! And, if you can't read what the eggs say, the first one is 2nd Easter and the second one says Payton)

I'm still doing pretty good on the healthy eating thing. I've only had soda a few times a week instead of having one every day...but I'm also trying to not drink a lot of it when I do drink it. I drink green tea whenever I need a caffeine boost. Some weeks are better than others, just depending on what we have going on. Obviously, holidays make it hard to eat healthy. But, I just made sure to put a lot of vegetables on my plate and tried not to eat too much of the potato dishes, meats, and breads. I don't have a scale at home (on purpose) so I'm not sure if I'm losing any weight or not, but I do feel better about myself, knowing that I'm at least trying to be healthier. I still crave sugar quite a bit, but I'm trying to fill those cravings with fruit instead of foods that have added sugar. Jami (of From the Natos) has really inspired me a lot with the post she wrote about being over sugar. You can check it out here. I would love for the pyramid she posted a picture of to be my ultimate goal, but as of right now, I am very far from that. I would love to get most of my calories from fruits and vegetables, but I'm just feeling good eating what I have been right now and trying to stay under my calorie goal. I've been under my calorie goal a few days each week this past month and that is always exciting!

I'm looking forward to some very exciting things happening in the next couple of months. I can't wait to share about them!
