A Time to Live

First of all...does it seem like this week flew by to anyone else? Or is it just me?

I seriously feel like Friday just past...

Anyway...

I've had an emotional week...lots of good emotions, but a few bad. It's been a very busy week and I haven't gotten a ton of sleep. I finally got to catch up on things a little bit. I got some laundry done...after not doing any in a week. I replied to some emails that have been sitting in my inbox (for about a week). I'm starting to feel a little more normal...

But...

I finally realized something very important about myself. I haven't been truly living my life in quite some time. I still live a normal life and get to do a lot of fun stuff...but there are definitely things I've put 'on hold' since I started this whole trying to conceive journey. I haven't really exercised regularly for fear of possible harm (I know this wouldn't be the case if I'd been exercising regularly to begin with, but I was just nervous if I started to of what could possibly happen). I haven't gone to the dentist, for fear of the x-rays being harmful. I avoid eating certain foods (like sushi) unless I know without a doubt that I'm not pregnant. I haven't really taken any medication when I've been sick or when I have a headache...again, unless I know I'm not pregnant.

I know some of those things are silly and trivial...but I've just been realizing that I've been walking on eggshells for quite some time now...trying to keep myself free from things that could potentially harm a growing baby. And while I know it's good to take care of your body and be cautious about things when trying to conceive...I think I've gone a little overboard.

So, from now on, I'm no longer worrying about this stuff. I'm just going to live my life and trust that God will take care of me and my future child.

It's a piece of this puzzle that I haven't given up my control over...and I'm honestly sick of having any control. I just want to be me again...and to do things without reservations.

I think I'm going to be a much happier person now.

On an entirely different note, I got a couple of wonderful things at Target this week.

I was getting pretty bored of my shower curtain. I didn't even really like it that much when I bought it...but it was cheap and I knew it would look good with our yellow bathroom. So, when I saw this one, I knew it needed to be a part of my bathroom.

A closer look at the pattern

It's a beautiful navy blue...which compliments the yellow so well

Yes, it's true. I now own this beautiful print! I just need to figure out where I'm going to hang it...perhaps in my room...what do ya think?

I've also decided that I need to exercise on a regular basis...like for reals. One of my friends is doing P90X and asked me to join her...so I'm definitely considering it. I think it would be so good for me.

Ahh...the weekend. It seems like we just had you...but I'm glad you're back.

Inspiration Workshop

I think it's safe to say we all thrive from inspiration...or maybe it's just me...

Either way, there's something amazing about being inspired by someone or something to be a better person, to create something beautiful, or to dream up the perfect home.

Gussy of Gussy Sews has started a new link up called the Inspiration Workshop. Each Friday, those on the email list for the workshop will receive an email with the topic for the following Thursday's link up party. The first topic she choose was handmade...which is perfect for her...since she creates some very beautiful handmade things!

Since the only thing I really hand make (is that even how you'd say it?) is jewelry, I decided that would be what I focus on this week. But...since I haven't made anything in quite some time, I used good ol' Pinterest to get some inspiration...and found this little beauty:

Isn't it gorgeous? I love the color combo...and how unique it is. It has definitely inspired me to try some new ideas with my jewelry making...

What inspires you?

TGIF

I'm so excited it's Friday!!

For multiple reasons...but one of the big ones is because my husband and I BOTH have a four day weekend!! And, tomorrow is jam-packed with fun stuff.

I don't have a lot on my heart at this moment...at least nothing heavy or deep. I'm just tired from a very busy day yesterday and excited I get to sleep in tomorrow morning. Hallelujah!

I'm also excited that I got to spend some time with some wonderful friends this last week! I love weeks like this.

Here are some of my Instragram pics for the week:

I am a huge sucker for Chipotle Chips and Guacamole. I could eat them all the time and never be tired of them

We went to see Pirates 4 last Friday with some friends...one being this lovely woman I hadn't seen in a very long time!

Ticket stub :)

Getting ready for my niece's birthday party. Wearing my new just.lovely.things headband! (Though you can't see it very well in this pic)

I know you've already seen the favors I made for the shower on Monday...but I just think they're too cute...and need to be posted twice!

Took a pic of my mileage because of the number. (Note: I was not driving when this pic was taken. See position on speedometer for proof...oh, and please ignore the dust. Sheesh!)

I got to spend my morning yesterday with this little beauty. She is so much fun!

And, here's another one...because she's just too cute!

Oh! There is one thing on my heart! I need to start making jewelry again. It's been almost two months, I think! It's time to remedy that situation...

Have a fabulous weekend!

Coffee Chat

It's Tuesday...and time for another coffee date!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you about all the fun things I got to do over the past three days (which, of course, you would already know about if you read my past two blogs already). And, I would tell you how, surprisingly, I am not as tired as I anticipated I would be. Thank You, Jesus!

I would also tell you to read this post. My dear friend Meghan (also known as the bestie) just started blogging...and her first blog is a.maz.ing! It is definitely worth reading...and you should check it out as soon as our coffee date is over!

I would also tell you about how different I feel these days about life. After spending so many hours, days, and months longing to get pregnant, I finally feel at peace about the whole situation. At this point in my life, I really don't care when I get pregnant...because I know that God's will is going to happen no matter what I do or don't do...and I am finally ok with that. I just want my life to glorify Him...and that means every part of my life has to...including my desire to have a child. So, I feel like I've surrendered that desire and it is no longer in the front of my mind anymore. If it happens soon, great. If it happens, three years from now, awesome. No matter when it happens, it will be when God wants it to happen...and that in and of itself is very exciting to me!

That's all I've got for now. I hope you enjoyed our chat...and your coffee.

It's All About the Blue

I threw my dear friend Emily a baby shower tonight, with the help of my other dear friend, L.Z.

Here are some of the pics:

Lovin' the blue

I got the idea for making these on Pinterest. I was so happy with how they turned out!

Shower game prizes

Since these temporary pots were kind of ugly, I covered them in baby boy wrapping paper and tied some yarn around them. The wrapping job is definitely not my best ever...but they were a bit awkward to wrap. I still got lots of compliments on them, though, so they must not have been too ugly!

Opening her gifts. Since she lives in CO now, she got a lot of gift cards :)

She was SO excited about the skull on this one!

Posing with her yummy cake!

Me and the bestie. More about her in my next blog post!

Me and my beautiful preggers friend.

She wanted a pic with the two of us that put on her shower!

I was so happy with how it turned out. We had the perfect amount of food, cake, game supplies, and plates and such. It was a beautiful shower for a beautiful friend. I am so happy it worked out to have a shower while they were here visiting. Otherwise, my plan was to have a Skype shower...which still would have been fun...just not AS fun.

Such a wonderful day!
